Vauxhall Motors, established in 1857, is one of many British car manufacturers with deep roots in early car production. Initially producing pumps and engines for the marine sector, they produced their first motorcar in 1903.
Following financial struggle and reduced demand, the company was acquired by General Motors Corporation in 1925. By utilising GM’s experience in production, design, and engineering Vauxhall was able to compete more effectively in the British market at a lower price point.
