The Standard Motor Company was established in 1903 in Coventry, England. They produced reliable and affordable cars, gaining renown for their standardised components and quality engineering.
They acquired the Triumph name in 1944, forming Standard-Triumph, an entity that continued until 1968, the nationalisation of British vehicle production into British Leyland.
