Security & Lockmakers
Archive Drawings from 1960 to 1969
James Gibbons Ltd is one of the oldest established lock makers in Great Britain. The company's founding is contested to be either 1670 or 1750, with the consensus being that Thomas Gibbons set up as a locksmith in 1670, with a later generation succeeding him in the business. Examples of James Gibbons' metalwork are in the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, & The Cambridge University Library. James Gibbons is still trading and still based in The Black Country.
