Founded in 1902 by American Chain and Cable Co. A private company was formed as 'Parsons Non-Skid Co LTD' in 1910, focussed on tyre chains and general chain manufacture. They had two sister companies in British Wire Products and National Standard, another wire manufacturer. Both were based on the Parsons site. Renamed Parsons Chain Co. in 1952, the company produced high-tensile chains, pit cage suspension gear, and conveyor chains. The American Chain & Cable Co. would sell the company in 1970 to Babcock International.
