Founded in 1865, Robert Hudson was a major supplier and manufacturer of light railway materials based in Leeds. The company's primary focuses were narrow gauge trackwork and vehicles, with a wide range of supporting products to give the customer a complete service. The company occupied a sprawling 38-acre works at its peak. The company would face hardship in the 1950s & 60s as road infrastructure was greatly improved and despite efforts to downsize and pivot the company into construction equipment. The firm went bankrupt in 1984. With assets and goodwill passed to Becorit Ltd.
