Archive Drawings from 1932 to 1948

Founded in 1912 as part of the Riley Cycle Co, the Coventry based company started producing complete cars in 1913, with Coach Building and Engine divisions in Riley Motor Manufacturing Co and Riley Engine Company Limited. The brand traded independently until 1938 when the company and its subsidiaries went into Receivership. The business and its assets (minus Riley Engine Co) were then bought by Lord Nuffield of Morris who continued Riley production until 1947, at which time the works would be consolidated into Nuffield’s MG factory at Abingdon.

W.H. Tildesley Ltd worked with Riley from 1932, all the way up to the sale of the company in 1948. Producing connecting rods, levers, rockers, links & bracketry.

WHT also worked with the Riley subsidiary, Riley Engine Co. to produce engine components for other Riley models.
