Founded in 1872 and based in Thimble Mill Lane, Nechells. L.H. Newton was a manufacturer screws, nuts, bolts, and pressings to supply the British aircraft and motor industry. The company also had subsidiaries in 'Birwelco (Birmingham Welding Co)' & 'Brown Fintube (Great Britain)'. The company was acquired by Guest, Keen & Nettlefolds (GKN) in 1957 along with its subsidiaries. The L.H. Newton name was kept as a division of GKN.
