Archive Drawings from 1932 to 1934
John Hawley & Co was established in 1837 as a manufacturer and retailer of outdoor leisure goods, camping equipment, accessories, rope, and sheeting. The company produced tents and marquees for civilian use under the 'Goodall' brand, and under contract to his majesty's government. The company transitioned into military bags and packing gear during the war years.
The company became the main constituent of The Hawley Group in 1980, along with a disparate range of other businesses and interests. The group acquired the US burglar and fire alarm group ADT in 1987 and changed its name to ADT in 1988.
