Founded by pioneers in the production of internal combustion engines, Crossley Brothers. Crossley Motors started car production in 1909, ceasing in WWI when Crossley was contracted by the war office to produce staff cars, light trucks & ambulances for the Royal Flying Core. Continued in the post-war years with car and commercial vehicle production until 1948, when the company was sold to AEC.
