Chas A Blatchford has been designing and producing limb prostheses since 1890. With the unfortunate surge in demand for practical limb prostheses following WW1 & two, Blatchford participated in early discussions with the government regarding prosthetics for veterans and has been a provider of prosthetic limbs to the NHS since its inception in 1948.

W.H. Tildesley Ltd has been producing metal components for Blatchford prosthetic limbs since 1934. Mainly the joints, bosses, and plates used in the moving elements of the limb. Tildesley is rightfully proud to have worked and still works in the field of mobility and prosthetic devices.
