Bristol Cars was the car division of Bristol Aeroplane Co, another W.H. Tildesley customer. The company founded its car division as a means to keep its workforce employed after the armistice eliminated the demand for fighting aircraft. Bristol developed a reputation for high-quality luxury vehicles with design elements reminiscent of their aeronautical roots.
The company would continue under various owners until its administration in 2011, the intellectual property now resides with investor Jason Wharton, and the future of the brand is uncertain.
