Archive Drawings from 1937 to 1952
Ariel Motors (J.S.) Ltd was established in 1932 and based in Selly Oak, Birmingham. As a producer of motorcycles in a saturated market they ultimately struggled to find their place and make an impression on the motorcycle industry. In 1944 the company was sold to BSA (Birmingham Small Arms Company) who were unsuccessful in reviving the brand. In 1965 production of Ariel motorbikes ceased.
