Forged Engine Components for the Morgan Matchless 3 Wheeler

Morgan Motors produced their range of V-Twin Three Wheelers between 1911-1939 and used engines supplied by Matchless, commonly known as one of the oldest marques of British motorcycle producers in the UK and one of WHT’s largest heritage accounts.

When analysing our archive we discovered that in support of the Morgan Matchless collaboration we supplied them with forgings to produce connecting rods (con rods) and both the front and rear inlet and exhaust cam levers for the MX2 and MX4 V-Twin variants.

The following Matchless engines were used in the Morgan Speeder 3-wheeler:

  • 1933-1937, Matchless ‘MX’, 990cc, WC, SV, 50° ‘V’ Twin
  • 1933-1939, Matchless ‘MX2’, 990cc, AC, OHV, 50° ‘V’ Twin
  • 1934-1939, Matchless ‘MX4’, 990cc, WC, OHV, 50° ‘V’ Twin
