New Forged Rocker Arm Replication For 1914 Clerget 9A Aviation Engine

The replication of components for heritage projects is a specialty of W.H. Tildesley. We were approached by a client requiring new production of forged exhaust rocker arms for 1914 Cleget 9A aircraft engines.

Clerget was the name given to early rotary aircraft engines designed by Pierre Clerget. Many variants were produced around the World War I era and can be found in early war planes such as the Sopwith Camel and Vickers Gunbus.

By analysing original components we were able to apply reverse engineering techniques to produce new 3D models along with forging and machining drawings.
Forging dies were also cut in-house and used to produce the final components for our client.
