11 Forged Components For the Rolls Royce V12 Merlin Engine

One of W.H. Tildesleys most recognisable aerospace/aviation brands is Rolls Royce, with the company producing forged components for their many models of aircraft engines during the Second World War.

This included the Rolls-Royce Merlin, a 27-litre V-12 engine. Initially known as the PV-12 it was renamed ‘Merlin’ to follow the new company convention of using names taken from birds of prey.

The Merlin name has become synonymous with iconic aircraft such as the Hawker Hurricane and Supermarine Spitfire and is widely regarded as one of the most successful aircraft engines of the World War II era.
