One model of motorcycle that Tildesley produced forged components for was the Velocette LE (Veloce). Velocette is a brand created by British motorcycle manufacturer Veloce Ltd, located in Hall Green, Birmingham.
The Velocette LE saw a lengthy production between 1948 and 1971, with three model revisions during this time. The ‘LE’ designation stood for ‘little engine’, with a 149cc 6 bhp engine that was later upgraded to a 200cc 8 bhp.
The LE proved popular within the civil service sector with over fifty British Police forces using the motorcycle.
